Synopsis of the film
Pacific Rim is an American blockbuster released July the 17th 2013 in all the theaters of France. It’s an apocalyptic film where humans face an alien threat: the kaijus. The kaijus are huge monsters (comparable to Godzilla) coming out of an interdimensional breach situated at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. They terrorize humans, destroying everything in their path and killing millions.
To counter them, humans have all united themselves and forgotten about their wars and conflicts. They created huge robots that could fight against the kaijus: the Jaegers (inspired by the German word Jäger meaning hunter).

Issues and Rewards
The Jaegers are controlled by 2 pilots connected by the “deviation”. Deviation is a technique to synchronize 2 humans through a neural bridge. At the beginning, the Jaegers won many fights but very quickly the kaijus evolved. They become more dangerous and the Jaegers are outdated. It is therefore up to Raleigh Becket and Mako Mori to try a final assault inside the very last remaining Jaeger to destroy once and for all the breach from which the kaijus emerge.
Pacific Rim is directed by Guillermo del Toro and won the 2013 Best Visual and Special Effects Award. Pacific Rim is a “Mecha” film. Huge futuristic robots fight against gigantic monsters. Here, they fight against kaijus, so the film is a kaiju eiga.
Parallel with the reality
The world could change drastically at any time as Pacific Rim shows. Although the film is totally unrealistic, since 2020 the world has already experienced a global pandemic (Covid 19).
It would not be aliens who could upset our world but pandemics or other diseases or even nuclear conflicts.
